Since 2011, Brighton First has delivered grants to its allied agency – Forward Dominica OASIS for medical and educational projects in Western Central DR far away from the resorts and beaches to help the poorer citizens of this area. Forward Dominica OASIS is a Dominican Non-Profit Social Service Agency based out of an office in San Juan de la Maguana with an 11-person volunteer Board of Directors and two religious advisers.

A total revenue of over $287.000 American Dollars has helped allied hospitals for malnourished babies, leprosy patients, clients with severe psychiatric illnesses, maternity hospitals, etc., as well as establishing a medical clinic – Our Lady of Angels in rural Western DR, and a preschool to 8th grade classrooms/educational support at Los Fundos School outside of Barrancas.

Brighton First has partnered with grants along with the Roman Catholic Diocese of San Juan de la Maguana to help two local churches: Our Lady of Esparanza (Hope), and Saint Francis of Assisi. Currently Brighton First is working with Forward Dominica OASIS to provide aid and technical assistance on clean water and public health initiatives in the rural areas outside of San Juan, DR.

Volunteers from the United States from Duquesne University. Pittsburgh and the Western Pennsylvania region continue to travel five or more times a year to assist in Forward Dominica OASIS endeavors.
